Beaver Valley Cross Country Ski Club is an organization, run solely by volunteers, which maintain trails located in and around Champion Lakes Provincial Park.  The site is situated approximately 10 kms off of Highway 3B, just east of Fruitvale BC.

The trail head begins 1 km outside the entrance of park.  The access road and parking lot are maintained by the local highways contractor.  The club owns two snowmobiles, and one snowcat which was donated by BC Hydro. These machines are used to groom the trails.

From the trail head, the skier can go directly to Champion Lakes Park, via the main road.  Once in the park, the skier has access to the main cabin located on the shore of the “Third Lake”  (main lake).  This large cabin has a wood burning stove with wood available, as well as several picnic tables inside and makes a perfect stop to rest, warm up or enjoy a packed lunch.

From the cabin,  the trails lead around the lake into the main campground, utilizing several different routes.  The trails also continue on to the boat launch on the “Second Lake”.

Also accessible from the main trail head are several more advanced trails, with steeper terrain.  One of the more popular trails is the “Huff and Puff”, a moderate climb, where you will find a lovely wilderness cabin, stalked with plenty of firewood to use in the wood stove.
